Cyanogenmod is a free, open source distribution of Android available for a range of different devices. Cyanogenmod 10.1 M2 is based on the latest and tastiest version of Android, 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. What does the M2 in the name stand for you might ask? Well it means that this is the second milestone version, where the latest and best resources are used in order to produce a custom ROM that is very fast and stable. For the end user, that being you, it means you can enjoy all the features Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean has to offer without any compromises. This is a Vanilla version of Android, so you get no manufacturers skins and just pure Android like on a Nexus device. In addition to those features, CyanogenMod has a couple of nice additions that really round out the customization on this ROM. If you want a very stable 4.2.1 Jelly Bean ROM with minimal bugs and glitches, this is the ROM for you! Try it out and tell us what you think of it in the comment section below.

    Hi there, I have Samsung Galaxy s3 i747 (rooted with Clockwork Recovery Mod) With JB 4.1.1 upgrade From AT&T via Samsung Kies which means I am Stock, I would like to know if I try this out, after I install a Custom ROM how Can I go Back to my Stock ROM if I want to? Thank you In advance.

      if you want to keep all of your information, its usually enough to just take a nandroid backup in the custom recovery of your choice. If you get stuck though and need to urgently go back to the manufacturer’s firmware, you can do this by flashing the stock .tar.md5 file through Odin. If you need any more help be sure to comment back!

        Thank you!!

        Where would I be able to find the stock .tar.md5 file?

        • http://www.androidsfinest.org/ Android’s Finest

          Try searching around in the XDA developer forums, you can usually find it there. If you need a straight link to download one though I can find one if you want!

    Hi there, I’m having problems flashing this ROM, I’m a former Galaxy S2
    Owner So I have done this before. The thing is that I Root my S3 i747 and I
    download the Zip file and put it in my SD card. When I Boot in Recovery Mode and Try to install the
    ROM zip File ( After I delete cache, factory restore etc..) I get an error that says: “Assert Failed: getprop(“ro.product.device”) == “d2att” E: Error in /sdcard/Rom/CM 10.1 4.2.1 M2/cm-10-20121011 – EXPERIMENTAL – d2att-M2.zip (Status 7) Installation Aborted”

    I would upload an Image but I cant take Screen picture Since I’m on recovery Mode. Need Help on this one please.

      Try using a different recovery such as TWRP.

      • Wilman Reyes

        That did the trick, The Post should be updated since with clockwork recovery the ROM will not Work. Have anyone else sucessfully flashed it with clockwor recovery?

        • http://www.androidsfinest.org/ Android’s Finest

          It worked when I tried it, the problem isn’t really for every device but sometimes it happens. Ill update the post anyhow to warn people about it.
